All through the journey of earth life
believers seek to climb
higher mountains than ever before
as victories lie behind

each mountain representing challenge
an endeavor of trust
finds victory’s goal at the peak
having faith is a must

then applying one’s self to work
doing what God will ask
one strives forward with each new step
having hope in one’s task

for when the victory has been gained
the inner man finds strength
as God has helped one overcome
by faith and prayer at length

at each mountaintop experience
we pause to look around
how God has brought us to this place
we stand on higher ground

then God takes us down the valley
our faith still needs to grow
to climb a higher mountain still
as maturity will show

and each believer should rejoice
when walking down again
for Jesus walks through each valley
beside you as a friend
